What does taking the time to really notice what you have do for you?

Sitting and reflecting on the what’s and the why’s, knowing what you have, and then really noticing why — how it makes you feel…a delicious practice to fall into, daily. Do you do that, or have ever done that, for yourself?

As I continue with my daily gratitude practice, over the years it has taken many forms — a nightly gratitude journaling, naming 3 things I’m grateful for before I fall asleep, a morning pages practice, daily breaks for calming, introspection  time into what is and what is not working for me, and now the focusing opportunity I posted to you about yesterday — writing 21 ‘things’ I’m grateful for, for 21 days.

I not only want to make a list, but desire to take the time to really look around me. Things, people, ideas, movements, objects, that surround me, that I surround myself with, that have meaning, beauty, to me. And why. What they do for me. Why I choose to have them.

And maybe a good time to let go of what is not inspiring me, or not filling me with that feel goodness that I continually want to live with.

I dive deeper into this practice, and it takes me deeper into my soul. Honing in on the reasons for doing what I do, for living how I live, for the choices I make, for the decisions that propel me forward with that beautiful creative momentum. It takes me to a place, and keeps me in a place of such loving unity, with myself, and that which surrounds me. It gives me clarity, and with that I can live each day fully, with intention and desire. To do the work, and the play, that I am here to do. To give freely, to share openly, to honor my purpose. To feel great!

Because that is super exciting, enticing, evocative, and damn fun…
