I am diving into the bellydance world to bring you Christina, a fantastic and gorgeous dancer I have known for many years. So fun to see her development in her dance world as well as supporting other dancers in the global community, including myself and Gypsy Caravan!

She has built her dream dance business, having her own studio, as well as cohosting an annual festival, raising her son, and expanding her vision. We have an inspired conversation about the love and hustle of running our own businesses while maintaining passion and having a life!

…What keeps her dancing and what she does to take care of herself outside of her work and dance life…so good!

More about Christina!

Versatile and dynamic, Christina King is recognized and respected in the Midwest as a proficient performer and instructor whose appeal has spread throughout the Midwest. She is a founding member and co-director of the nationally acclaimed fusion troupe, Blue Lotus Tribe and successfully runs Eastern Groove Studio in Elgin, IL.
Christina has received recognition certificates for Rachel Brice’s 8 Elements: Initiation (2013), Phase II: Cultivation (2016), and Phase III: Culmination (2017), and is a certified 8 Elements Practitioner. She has also completed and passed proficiency exams for Zoe Jakes’ DanceCraft: Key of Diamonds (2016) and Key of Spades (2017). She intends to continue forward in her education by completing the 8 Elements teacher training for Datura style in 2019.
Christina is also a well-organized and thorough event producer, having been a team member in planning and running Tribal Revolution, Midwest Tribal Mafia, Turbo Raks Chicago, Hiptastic, and other smaller Chicagoland events, benefits, and shows.

As an instructor, Christina is highly regarded as being knowledgeable, creative, and challenging, all the while delivering her material with an approachable sense of humor. She has been honored to teach at such events as Tribal Fest, Elevation, 3rd Coast Tribal, Folk Tours Camp, TribOriginal, Northern Lights Festival, Tribal Dreams Festival, Tribal Renaissance, and the Las Vegas Bellydance Intensive.
