In our discussion today, we talk about looking into the future and how Sherene established her career, moving from working for someone else, to starting her own company/business. And how being a mother, and spending time with her family was always a priority as she focused on building the biz.
We talk about how building the business is about learning how to let go, to ask for help, and to really be able to spend time in our own creative zone of genius.
We talk about her early passion of playing music, and mine too, and how sometimes that early vision has to change and shift.

Sherene Strausberg, founder and creative director of 87th Street Creative, is passionate about helping businesses achieve their branding and marketing goals through powerful, effective design solutions. Understanding the value of communication and collaboration, she ensures clients are informed about the creative process and are thrilled with the final deliverable.
Sherene is informed by her strong creative background. She earned joint bachelor’s degrees in music composition/piano and sound engineering from the prestigious Indiana University School of Music, followed by a master’s degree in film scoring from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. While based in Los Angeles, Sherene worked as a freelance film composer, and as a sound engineer for National Public Radio. She then studied graphic design at UCLA and embarked on a full-time career as a graphic designer. After doing graphic design for several years in New York City, she took the experience from these careers, to focus on motion design. The combination of a music/film background complements her design experience to create motion design videos from concept to completion. She is now proud to call New York her home, where she lives with her husband and three children.
